Music Ministry
At Central United Methodist Church, we have a strong and growing music program that focuses on God and offers something for everyone!
Chancel Choir
Our Chancel Choir leads the congregation in worshiping God through music at the 11:00 a.m. worship service. It is opened to all youth and adults who enjoy singing. It is a great time for learning music, praising God, and enjoying fellowship. We sing a large variety of music in many different styles, including classical, gospel, contemporary, and spirituals, etc. We also provides a service of special music during the Easter season and the Christmas season. We have sung in numerous community events. Anyone is welcomed to join the Chancel Choir. Our rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the choir room.
The Table Praise Band
Our Praise Band leads the congregation in worship through music at the 9:00 a.m. worship service which takes place in the Fellowship Hall. We are actively seeking singers and acoustic instrumentalists to join us as we praise God through many genres of music: gospel, praise and worship, traditional hymns and contemporary Christian. In addition, the Band accompanies the Table outreach into the community providing music in places like the local laundromat, nursing homes, and other community venues. The Band typically practices on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. United Women In Faith
The United Women in Faith is a very active group working with local missions and contributing to different faith based organizations that help in different parts of the world. The UWF normally meet on a Tuesday evening at 6:30 on a bi-monthly basis. There are opportunities for all women to participate in the many projects that we are involved in. We welcome anyone whose “purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.” We invite non-members from Central and those who do not have a UWF at their church to join us.
United Methodist Men
All men of Central are cordially invited to attend the United Methodist Men’s fellowship meetings. We enjoy the fellowship, support, and friendship of our members at our meetings and in our lives. UMM works on projects in the church, as needed, and projects in the community. Please attend and help us spread God’s love and make a difference in the lives of those around us. The Men’s Fellowship meets on the second Saturday at 7:45 a.m. of each month, except for July and August.
The Central United Methodist Men’s Fellowship only source of income is through Kroger Community Rewards program. Please sign up for a Kroger Rewards card.
