News from the After School Ministry
Greetings from the Winner’s Circle:
Hope 2011 is off to a good start for everyone!! The New Year started off with a return to our study of The Lord’s Prayer. We have been focusing on the nest two lines. As we looked at “Thy Will be Done”, we focused on the Old Testament to find stories about Abraham and Josiah. We learned that both men obeyed God and followed His will. Then, we turned to the New Testament to learn that Jesus needed to be baptized to do God’s will and to be obedient to His Father.
Our discussions then turned to the phrase, “On Earth as it is in Heaven”. We talked about having Joy on earth like it is in heaven; worshiping God here on earth like it is in heaven; and, making the earth beautiful and appreciating the beauty that God has put in it.
As we count our blessings this month, we would like to lift up thanks to some very special friends in the CUMC Evelyn Jamison Circle for the most generous monetary donations to the After School Ministry. Also, we would like to thank the CUMC congregation for your gifts of prayer and love for our program.
