"the children & young people arrive at the church two hours before worship starts so that they can walk the streets & talk to people about Jesus..."
Definitely, this very basic & uncomplicated method of outreach has been and continues to be used in 3rd world & developing countries. Americans in surburban & urban areas are too busy & sophisticated to outreach in this way. However, perhaps we can tweak this outreach method so it is workable in Salem, VA, or the greater Roanoke Valley, so outreach can be simplified. Perhaps it is the one-on-one approach, or is it the personal testimony which, I am certain, is part of this outreach method. Definitely food for thought in the Evangelism committee & in the church council.
May the Lord continue to be present in the dialog. Blessings.

Kristin, It's great to be in fellowship with other Christians in the world-wide communion of the body of Christ. I pray for edifying dialog, sharing of thoughts & resources amongst clergy from VA conference & the UMC in El Salvador.

Kristin, how cool is it that the Qumran community were able to preserve the Dead Sea scrolls for our edification & that Qumran has been kept true to what it once was, as much as possible!

Rev McMahon started preaching on the Beatitudes series yesterday. In elementary Sunday School, I was able to explain that Beatitudes refers to the Beautiful Attitudes.

I am sure you and the rest of your group are thirstily drinking up everything you see & experience in the Holy Land!

Shalom for now!

Am glad the group has arrived safely & are taking in sights in the Holy Land. I praise God for safe travel & look to Him for continued protection. I am certain each of you will be affected by what you see, feel, or experience in the Holy Land.
